PGLU Formulates GAD Plan, Budget 2026; Holds Implementation Workshop for Gender, Development

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office 1 (DILG – RO1) successfully conducted a Workshop on the Formulation of the Province’s Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget 2026 on March 11, 2025 at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office Training Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) proudly joined the nation in commemorating the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan and Philippine Veterans Week on April 9, 2025 at the United States Armed Forces in the Philippines – Northern Luzon (USAFIP-NL) National Military Shrine and Park (Camp Spencer) in Barangay Darigayos, Luna, La Union. With the theme “Kabayanihan ng Beterano: Sandigan ng Kaunlaran ng Bagong Pilipinas,” this year’s celebration highlights the enduring heroism of Filipino veterans and their vital role in shaping a stronger and more progressive nation.

Eat Bulaga! Brings Sugod Campus, mga Kapatid! to DMMMSU-NLUC; Caps La Union’s 175th Founding Anniversary

The La Union 175th Foundation Anniversary culminated with a festive and unforgettable celebration as Eat Bulaga! brought its Sugod Campus, mga Kapatid! to Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC), live streamed on March 29, 2025, from the Ortega Memorial Center. A total of 1,784 students, faculty and staff of the said school participated in the event.

PGLU, BCDA Discuss San Fernando City Airport Development, Collaborative Plans

In a bid to enhance the San Fernando City Airport’s capacity and infrastructure, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) met to discuss plans for its development. PGLU, DENR Strengthen Avian Influenza Surveillance; Migratory Birds Tested Negative in Bird Flu

In celebration of World Wildlife Day 2025 with the theme “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet,” the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) initiated the conduct of avian influenza surveillance through oropharyngeal swabbing in wild migratory and wild resident birds in Barangay Raois, Sto. Tomas, La Union which all yielded negative for Bird Flu results as reported by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 1 during the 1st quarter Environmental Management Coordinator’s Meeting on March 28, 2025.

NDH, BFP Naguilian Conduct Emergency Preparedness Drills

In commemoration of Fire Prevention Month, the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) together with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Naguilian Station organized a series of emergency preparedness drills focused on three critical areas: fire safety, earthquake preparedness, and chemical spill response on March 28, 2025.
