In pursuant to the Provincial Ordinance No. 034-2012, “An Act Declaring and Fixing the First Monday of June Every Year as the Arbor Day or Tree-Planting Day in La Union,” and in time for the celebration of World Environment Day, a total of 87 volunteers took part in planting 500 fruit-bearing tree seedlings on June 5, 2023 at Sitio Captaoan, San Gabriel, La Union.

Moving towards the end of the first half of the year, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David encouraged the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) workforce to remember the very reason why they came on board in the service, which is to do more and provide more to the Kaprobinsiaan. During the first Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, Gov. Rafy highlighted that no matter how big or small one’s efforts and actions are, these all make a difference.
