La Union is leading the charge towards a greener future as it becomes a single-use plastics (SUP)-free province. The significant step was marked by the passage of Provincial Ordinance No. 342-2023, titled “ENACTING THE SINGLE-USE PLASTICS (SUPs) AND OTHER REUSABLE AND DISPOSABLE MATERIALS CODE OF THE PROVINCE OF LA UNION,” during the 53rd Regular Session of the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union on July 4, 2023.

The activity was conducted on June 30, 2023 at the DMMMSU-MLUC Covered Court, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Completion of Hi-Vest Distribution Empowers 4,608 Brgy. Tanod in La Union

Enhancing the effectiveness of Barangay Peacekeeping and Action Teams (BPAT), the distribution of High-Visibility-Vests (Hi-Vest) has been successfully completed across the 576 barangays in province of La Union equipping 4,608 Barangay Tanods with essential gear to ensure their safety and protection while maintaining peace and order in their respective communities.
