LUMC: International Aids Candlelight Memorial

INTERNATIONAL AIDS CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL. La Union Medical Center (LUMC) holds a memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony on May 06, 2019 in Agoo, La Union to remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) and HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).

CAR PARK BUILDINGS IN GOVERNMENT CENTERS PROPOSED

Provincial Engineer Ressie Estrella highlighted plans on putting up Car Park Buildings as he presented the status of projects of the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) in various locations in the province during the Cabinet’s Meeting on May 6, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

With the challenges on limited parking space in the City of San Fernando, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III instructed the PEO to design parking buildings near government offices to be constructed in three different locations in the city.

The first proposed parking building will be constructed at the ravine in between Guerrero Road and Aguila Road adjacent to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office – La Union (PSWDO-LU). The Boy Scout of the Philippines Building in Aguila Road will to be demolished to make way for the second parking building. Another parking space will be constructed at the Motorpool, Bypass Road near the Government Center in Brgy. Sevilla.

The three buildings were conceptualized by Arch. Edward A. Galvez and are expected to ease the problem in parking space and traffic around the city. If approved, above mentioned buildings will start their construction by 2020.

Earthquake Preparedness Empowered in BDH

EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION DRIVE. Earthquake and Disaster Management Committee Chairman of Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) Dr. Raul E. Sagun reads the steps to be done during and after an earthquake using the hospital’s paging system on May 6, 2019. He will conduct this activity every Monday for the whole month of May to remind hospital personnel and patients on what to do during and after an earthquake in case they are on hospital premises. He discussed the “drop, cover, and hold on” procedure to minimize injuries, reduce risks, and save lives.
