LU Information Officers Set Info Service Protocols

To streamline exchange of information during typhoons and other calamities, Media and Public Information Unit (MPIU) Head Ms. Joanna C. Guerrero presents the MPIU’s proposed Information Service Protocol to the information officers (IOs) of the different Local Government Units (LGUs) during the Second Quarter Meeting of La Union Information Officers Guild (IOLUG) on August 1, 2019 at the Diego SIlang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. 19 IOs from the different LGUs attended said meeting with election of the organization’s officers as one of the agenda. Ms. Sunshine Dela Cruz of the Municipality of Agoo was elected as president.

BLDH Conducts Newborn Screening

In observance of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Month, Nurse II Claire V. Ramirez of Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) discusses the importance of Newborn Screening and Newborn Hearing Tests to pregnant and lactating women at the outpatient department, BLDH, Balaoan, La Union on July 29, 2019. Said activity aims to detect any potentially fatal or disabling conditions in newborns. The doctors and nurses make sure that 100 percent of babies born at the hospital undergo tests within 24 hours before they will be discharged to ensure their health and safety.

Proper Nutrition Discussed in BLDH

Nutritionist Dietician Alitha Directo of Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) conducts an advocacy and information education campaign about proper nutrition and weight management at the BLDH Outpatient Department, Bacnotan, La Union on July 29, 2019. She encouraged everyone to advocate and realize the importance of healthy diet, increased physical activity and reduced sedentary behavior to prevent lifestyle diseases.

The activity was conducted in celebration of National Nutrition Month and in support of the province’s mission of a Healthy La Union, Happy La Union by 2022.

Psychometrician Top 6 Receive Check

La Union Psychometrician IG Harlika G. Langit receives a check from Gov. Pacoy on July 29, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. The check, from the Provincial Government of La Union, is her incentive for being the Top 6 in the 2018 Psychometrician Licensure Examination.

PGLU Recognizes BGen Henry A Robinson Jr’s Contributions in Sustaining Peace and Order in La Union

Gov. Pacoy gives a Plaque of Recognition from the Provincial Government of La Union to BGen Henry A Robinson Jr of the 702 Infantry (Defender) Brigade 7th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army for his contributions in sustaining the Peace and Order in the province during his exit call to the governor on July 29, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. In return, BGen Robinson gave Gov. Pacoy a framed photo of the two as a token for his contributions in sustaining an insurgency-free Province of La Union.

Peace, Order and Public Safety-Emergency Operations Center Inspected for LAN Installation

Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU) personnel conducts a site inspection in the four-storey Peace, Order and Public Safety-Emergency Operations Center (POPS-EOC) in preparation for the installation of Local Area Network with internet connection, telephone communications and CCTV equipment on July 29, 2019 at Barangay Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. The POPS-EOC building is a shared facility for all POPS Management, Emergency Operations, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Peace and Order Council Meetings, Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Council Meetings, 911 and proposed Metro-La Union Development Authority.
