Among birth control methods, IUD is given emphasis to young mothers since it lasts up to 12 years and can be removed anytime they want. It is considered by midwives as the safest method because not like pills and other birth control methods that are made up of chemicals that alter hormones, it is a small T-shaped device that is inserted into a woman’s uterus to prevent pregnancy.

This is in observance of the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. She stressed the significance of breastfeeding to mother and baby’s health. BLDH promotes breastfeeding by not allowing formula milk and feeding bottles inside the hospital premises.
