Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III administers the Oath of Office of the new La Union Vibrant Women, Inc. (LUVWI) officers on August 22, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Elected officers were Vicenta Regacho of Agoo as President; Josefa Pajarillo of Bangar as Vice President; Marylene Flores of Burgos as Secretary; Marie Rose Valdez of Balaoan as Assistant Secretary; Lilia Navida of San Juan as Treasurer; Marlina Montanez of Bauang as Assistant Treasurer; Julita Aquino of Rosario as Auditor; and Annie Dodon of Bagulin as Public Relations Officer.

PHO, San Juan Conduct Dengue Awareness Program

DENGUE AWARENESS. The Provincial Government of La Union, through the Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Eduardo S. Posadas, intensifies its campaign against dengue, as it holds Dengue Awareness Program in partnership with the Municipal Government of San Juan, La Union on August 20, 2019. Dr. Posadas gave a lecture of dengue prevention and protection, while the program participants searched and destroyed potential breeding sites of dengue mosquitoes in the vicinity of San Juan Municipal Gym.

LUAGIO Elects Officers

Also part of the Assembly was the election of LUAGIO officers, where the Provincial Government of La Union, represented by Media and Public Information Chief Joanna C. Guerrero, was elected as President.

LU Employs Systematic Mining

To ensure systematic mining in the Province of La Union, a multi-partite monitoring team composed of representatives from the Office of the Provincial Governor – Environment and Natural Resources Unit; Mines and Geosciences Bureau and a non-government organization conduct monitoring of the operations sand and gravel quarrying area in Bangar, La Union on August 19, 2019. A total of 40 commercial sand and gravel permit holders from Aringay, Bauang, Bagulin, San Juan, Bangar, Sudipen and Luna were monitored in the month of August.

Elected Officers were Rosario VM Bellarmin C. Flores III as President; Balaoan VM Carlo Castor U. Concepcion as Vice President; Bauang VM Henry A. Bacurnay, Jr. as Secretary; City of San Fernando VM Alfredo Pablo “Alf” R. Ortega as Treasurer; Pugo VM Jose B. Basallo as Auditor; Sudipen VM Melvin G. Macusi as Public Relations Officers; and Agoo VM Henry B. Balbin, Bangar VM Virgelio M. Dabalos, Santol VM Monico O. Oriente, Jr., and Aringay VM Benjamin O. Sibuma as Board of Directors.

Gawad Pilak Award from LBP Conferred to PGLU

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III receives the Gawad Pilak award from Ms. Ma Belma T. Turla of Land Bank of the Philippines on August 14, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union. Said award was given to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) for its contrbutions in the successful implementation of Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) programs and services.

Revenue and Performance Assessment to the Municipal Treasury of Bauang Conducted

The Provincial Treasurer’s Office – Field Supervision Unit headed by Estrella A. Lagliva, with the assistance of Cash Receipts Unit head Regildo C. Sudiacal, conducts a Revenue and Performance Assessment to the Municipal Treasury of Bauang, La Union on August 14, 2019. The evaluation was undertaken to monitor and ensure proper Tax Compliance within the Municipality.
