Ortega III is set to participate in the upcoming 30th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) with the theme, “Fostering Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism,” on August 30 – September 1, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Balay Silangan Reformation Center in Caba, La Union Inaugurated

BALAY SILANGAN. Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III leads the inauguration of the Balay Silangan Reformation Center in Caba, La Union on August 22, 2019. In his speech, Gov. Pacoy said the facility is symbolic of the province’s commitment to uphold peace and order through drug reformation and rehabilitation. The Balay Silangan is a joint project of the Municipal Government of Caba led by Mayor Philip Caesar Crispino and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency headed by Dir. Gen. Aaron Aquino.

Ortega III inducts the members of the La Union Medical Center Board of Trustees (LUMC BOT) during their Board Meeting on August 22, 2019 at the LUMC, Agoo, La Union. Pasion of the Media and Public Information Unit (MPIU) assists participants of the DAGYAW: Open Government and Participatory Governance Regional Townhall Meetings 2019 in the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) Booth at the Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan on August 22, 2019. Employees from the MPIU and Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit joined the PGLU Delegation in Dagyaw 2019 which envisioned to be one of the government’s main campaigns that will provide avenues for engagement between government and people at the local level.

Philippine Councilors League Undergoes Training

PCL TRAINING SERIES. Over 200 councilors in La Union gather for a training themed “The Role of Legislation in Planning” on August 22, 2019 at the Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union. Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, who was the President of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Provincial Federation of La Union in 2001-2007, underscored the vital role of councilors, as he noted that “legislative planning is the backbone of governance.” PCL La Union Pres. Ma. Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” Nisce called on her fellow legislators to remain passionate in upholding excellent public service in their respective localities.

Committee on Public Works and Utilities Clears Roads

LU ROAD CLEARING. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Public Works and Utilities chaired by Board Member Maria Annabelle S. De Guzman conducts ocular inspection and clearing operation along the provincial and national roads in La Union on August 22, 2019. The activity was in compliance with Department of the Interior and Local Government Memorandum Circular No. 2019-121 directing the clearing of roads from illegal structures and constructions.
