Ortega III leads the ceremonial turnover of steel cabinets and industrial fans to Rural Health Units and District Hospitals during the Joint Oversight Committee Meeting of Public Health and Public Hospitals held at the old Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on September 17, 2019. These logistics were given by the Department of Health as requested by Dr. Rodolfo Tongson, PHO I for the National Tuberculosis Control Program.

OPVet Gives Update on African Swine Fever

Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Nida N. Gapuz updates the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawgian (SP) on the situation of the swine industry in the province particularly on African Swine Fever (ASF) cases during the Committee Hearing of the SP Committee on Agriculture and Aquatic Resources on September 17, 2019 at the 3rd Basement, SP Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Dr. Gapuz confirmed that La Union is ASF-free. She also presented and discussed the different measures as well as pre-emptive action plans that their offices are undertaking to prevent the virus from infecting local piggeries.

Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega presents a Resolution of Commendation (SP res. No 574-2019) to Ms. Kathleen Joy Nonan, represented by her father, Punong Barangay Alexander Nonan, and her sister, Marianne Kristelle Nonan during the 12th Regular Session of the 22nd Sangguniang Panlalawigan on September 17, 2019 at the SP Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Said resolution was approved to extend recognition and commendation to the heroic act of Ms. Nonan, a flight attendant from Barangay Dili, Bauang, La Union who assisted in the delivery of a baby boy at 39,000 feet above sea level during a Qatar Airways Manila Flight QR 934 on July 9, 2019.

CDH Participates in World Alzheimer’s Day

WORLD ALZHEIMER’S DAY. Caba District Hospital (CDH) Health Education Promotion Officer Chenee Rose Manangan tackles stigma that surrounds Alzheimer-related Dementia during the information education campaign on September 16, 2019 at CDH Outpatient Unit, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union. Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that impairs memory and other mental functions. The said activity was participated in by outpatients and their watchers.
