October to Remember: LU Surfing Break

Jam. Surf. Play. Party! The tide is high and nothing can suppress the waves nor the energy as the La Union Surfing Break (LUSB) made a splash in Urbiztondo Beach in San Juan, Galongen-Quirino Beach in Bacnotan and Samara Beach in Caba, La Union on the month of October. First launched in 2006 and fashioned after America’s famous spring breaks, LUSB is fast gaining a reputation for providing students, young professional, and visitors of all backgrounds an October to remember. Asked if someone’s having a good time, a merry-maker was even quoted to have said, “This is better than Boracay.”

Fonbuena accept the keys of responsibility from Chief Operating Officer of Cleanway Environmental Management Solutions Inc. (CEMSI) Bien Isabelo Clarete during the turnover and inauguration ceremonies of the Hazardous Wastes Transfer Station and Storage Facilities at LUMC, Agoo, La Union on September 30, 2019. LUMC is the first hospital in the country to have these facilities.

Financial Assistance for Drug Surrenderees Distributed

PGLU Awarded Best LGU Booth in Tara Na Sa Norte 2019

Provincial Government of La Union was awarded the “Best LGU Booth” during the “Tara Na Sa Norte” Tourism and Travel Fair on September 27-29, 2019 at the Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The three – day expo was participated in by various tourism enterprises namely Department of Tourism regional offices, local government units, airlines, accommodations, land transportation operators, and recreation highlighting travel and tourism offers of Northern Luzon in the southern part of Metro Manila.

BDH Holds HIV Advocacy Lecture in Poblacion, San Gabriel

Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Nurse Counselor Jeffrey Julian presents the facts and figures of the increasing HIV positive cases during the advocacy lecture to the Sangguniang Kabataan of Poblacion, San Gabriel, La Union on September 28, 2019. Open forum, counselling and testing were also conducted by BDH HIV counsellors and medical technologist. This activity is one of BDH’s strategic project entitled, “Education and Advocacy on Sexually-Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV Transmission Prevention among Locals, Tourism Workers, and Tourists in the Central Agri-Tourism Circuit; and Provision of HIV Counselling and Testing Services to Interested Individuals/Groups/Organizations/Institutions.”
