Joint Committees on Public Works and Utilities, Transportation, and Laws, Rules and Privileges Conduct Hearings

The Joint Committees on Public Works and Utilities chaired by Hon. Maria Annabelle S. de Guzman; Transportation chaired by Hon. Frank O. Sibuma; and Laws, Rules and Privileges chaired by Hon. Jennifer C. Mosuela conduct their respective committee hearings on February 6, 2020 at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Draft Ordinance No. 205-2019 entitled Early Warning Devices Ordinances of the Province of La Union and Draft Ordinance No. 206-2019 entitled Anti-Road Obstruction Ordinance of the Province of La Union were discussed and reviewed during the said committee hearing and are set for public hearing on the last week of February.

SP OKs ‘PGLU Family Choir’ as official choir of PGLU

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of the Province of La Union during its 34th Regular Session approved SP Ordinance No. 228-2020 recognizing the PGLU Family Choir as the official choir of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on February 18, 2020.

Gov. Pacoy leads the turning over of delivery truck to San Fermin Multi-Purpose Cooperative on February 4, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union. Provincial Administrator Jennifer Joan O. Manguiat and Provincial General Services Office OIC Robert Lelina were also present during the ceremony.

LUMC OB Ward Patients Receive Gifts

Department of OB-Gyne Head Dr. Bernadette M. Lizada of La Union Medical Center (LUMC) poses with the patients of the LUMC OB ward who received stuffed toys donated to the hospital on February 04, 2020. The gift giving was done after lectures on breastfeeding, family planning and other matters concerning women.

PGLU DONATES TRUCK TO SAN FERMIN MPC

The Provincial Government of La Union, headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, donated a closed van truck to San Fermin Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) on February 4, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Chairperson Mr. Eduardo C. Balanag of the San Fermin ARB MPC, received the vehicle in behalf of the MPC.

Also present in the turning over were Provincial Administrator Jennifer Joan O. Manguiat; Provincial Agriculturist. Ramon F. Laudencia; Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dominique Jose S. Puzon; and Officer-In-Charge Engr. Robert L Lelina, of the Provincial General Services Office.

Provincial Accountant Atty. Albert F. Padilla and one of the church leaders of Jesus Reigns Ministry offered a thanksgiving prayer and blessed the vehicle.

After the signing of the Deed of Donation, Gov. Pacoy gave a speech in the importance of this endeavour for the province. Gov. Pacoy, Balanag, Atty. Puzon and Laudencia signed the Deed of Donation.

The donation of the agricultural machinery and equipment was facilitated through the Small Livelihood Project, Farm Mechanization Service Facility initiative under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) of the Department of Agriculture. In support to the vision of the province, farmers of the MPC were capacitated by improving their means of livelihood through this project.

Marine Protected Area Ordinance Drafting Discussed in SP Committee Hearing

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Agriculture and Aquatic Resources tackles the drafting of Marine Protected Area Ordinance of the Province of La Union during the Joint Committee Hearings/Meetings on February 3, 2020 at the 3rd Basement, SP Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Representatives from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office I, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional Office I, Environment and Natural Resources Unit of the province, Environment and Natural Resources Office of the City of San Fernando, and representatives from several Local Government Units of La Union were present and will be part of the Technical Working Group.

Mutia ti Santo Tomas Victoria Tavas is hailed “Darling of the Press” during the Mutia ti La Union 2020 (MLU2020) Press Presentation on February 3, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. In the said event, the 20 candidates and the members of the MLU2020 Pageant Organizing Committee answered queries from national and local media.

Burgos, Naguilian Update Enhance Real Property Taxation System

La Union Provincial Assessor’s Office (OPAss) –Information Technology and Land Patent Unit head June Ramos and staff update the Enhance Real Property Taxation System (ERPTS) in the Municipalities of Burgos and Naguilian as part of their scheduled assistance to all municipalities in the province on February 3, 2020. ERPTS is a database system currently used by the OPAss and the 19 Municipal Assessors to process transactions and deliver real-time data to cut down processing time and generate ready format reports.
