In Celebration of the 170th Foundation Anniversary of the Province of La Union, Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) conducts an outreach program at Pitpitac Elementary School, Luna, La Union on February 21, 2020.

As Provincial Government of La Union envisions a Healthy and Happy La Union by 2022, BLDH advocates health by providing health information, free medical and dental check-ups to catchment municipalities. 101 children were benefited with free medical and dental services, feeding program and were given personal hygiene kits.

Social Welfare Officer I Leizlee Ann Espinueva discussed Republic Act 7877 or Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and Republic Act 11313 or Safe Spaces Act to 104 Senior High school students with the aim to reduce the risk factors and occurrence of sexual abuse in children and adolescent.

OB-Gynecologist Dr. Claire Maramat-Lucina spearheaded the awareness lectures on smoking, alcohol and drug addiction, risky sexual behaviors, teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease prevention to 104 Senior Highschool students. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union conducts 11 Joint Committee Hearings/Meetings on February 17, 2020 at the Conference Room, SP Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Included in the topics discussed was a letter from the governor requesting the SP for a resolution authorizing him to enter a Memorandum of Agreement in behalf of the Provincial Government of La Union with Landbank – Bauang Branch in relation to the new livelihood loan facility or the electronic salary loan system. Representatives from the Office of the Provincial Treasurer and Atty. Jessamine C. Garcinez of Provincial Legal Office were invited as Resource Speakers during the said hearing.
