PGLU Distributes Almost P16M in Farm Tools, Inputs to LUcal Farmers

In response to the growing need to modernize and enhance agricultural productivity, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, initiated the distribution of PHP 15,525,000 worth of farm machinery, tools, equipment, and farm inputs to 82 farmer cooperatives or associations, learning sites, and farm schools on October 4, 2024, at the La Union Honeybee Center, Brgy. Raois, Bacnotan, La Union.

BDH COLLECTS 63 BLOOD UNITS IN BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

In the true spirit of La Union PROBINSYAnihan and volunteerism for change, Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Zenserly D. Pagaduan and one of its leading partners in blood donation, Bannuar Security Agency Inc. management and personnel headed by its President and General Manager, Mr. Constantino R. Mosuela, keep their commitment of ensuring safe, adequate and accessible blood supply for patients through their humanitarian act of donating blood in partnership with National Voluntary Blood Services Program – Ilocos Training Regional and Medical Center on October 12, 2024 at Bannuar Security Agency, Brgy. Panicsican, San Juan, La Union. Bannuar Security Agency Inc. consisting of Bannuar, Ranniag, Sirib, and Ridam Security Agencies are regular partners of the hospital in the conduct of mobile blood donations held quarterly. A total of 63 blood units were collected in the said activity.

The Province of La Union bagged five pearls in the recently concluded 2024 Pearl Awards of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines, Inc – Department of Tourism (ATOP-DOT), solidifying the province’s status as one of the country’s top tourism implementers. PGLU Represents PH in Lao PDR Conference on Productivity Gainsharing for Rural Development

Under the leadership of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) proudly represented the Philippines as the lone Local Government Unit and one of the 10 selected participants from the country at the Conference on Productivity Gainsharing held on October 11, 2024 in Lao PDR. NDH, BDH Inaugurates Materials Recovery Facility; Improves Waste Management

As a significant step towards enhancing waste management practices in the district hospitals in the province, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David led the blessing and inauguration of the Materials Recovery Facility of Naguilian (NDH) and Bacnotan District Hospitals (BDH) on October 2 and 3, 2024, respectively.

160 ISF-CSC Holders Receive Support from PGLU, Nat’l Gov’t for Re-assessment, Contract Renewal

A total of 160 Integrated Social Forestry-Certificate of Stewardship Contract (ISF-CSC) holders from Caba, La Union, have received seedling assistance from the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to support them in their compliance to the Stewardship Agreement. These Stewardship contracts, under Integrated Social Forestry program, allow holders to occupy forestlands, cultivate 20% forest trees and 80% agricultural crops and/or established community-based forest management towards sustainable development of forest lands and resources of the province.
