The Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office, together with the partner local government units (LGUs) conducted an ambient air quality sampling in the monitoring stations in Bacnotan Farmersโ€™ Park and Civic Center and Bauang Town Plaza.
The ambient air quality sampling was done using the PQ200 Manual Particulate Sampler of the Provincial Government. The Department of the Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau Region gave their assistance in the activity.
The test sampling runs from midnight to midnight which complies with United States Environmental Protection Agency requirement for 24-hours sampling. The equipment can monitor the particulate matter with 2.5 concentration in the monitoring stations.
The result of the sampling will serve as baseline data for the establishment of the Air Quality Index in the Province. Furthermore, the results will be forwarded to the partner LGUs for their basis on possible environmental programs or for crafting of municipal ordinance geared towards air quality management in the province.

Alinsunod sa kahilingan ni Gov Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ Ortega III, iniutos ni La Union Police Provincial Director PCOL Jonathan Calixto ang deployment ng karagdagang personnel simula ngayong araw, ika-1 ng Oktubre, 2021sa ibat-ibang bayan. To preserve and promote local culture and traditions, including the creative and artistic expressions of local arts community in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) officially launched the Sining Galing for Recovery and Healing capacity development program with Open Space Arts as initial component.

PESO CONDUCTS 2ND LA UNION VIRTUAL JOBS FAIR

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Public Employment Service Office in partnership with the Information Communications and Technology Unit conducted the 2nd La Union Virtual Jobs Fair on September 29 and 30, 2021 via video conferencing to continue providing employment opportunities to kaprobinsiaan amidst the pandemic.

Local Jobs available were cashier, kitchen staff, information technology personnel, visual artist, clerical staff, audit staff, area operation specialist, field staff, staff pharmacist, medical technologist, and radiologic technologist. There were four employers that participated for local employment and 57 registered jobseekers were interviewed. Employers will give updates to applicants for the job-placement result.

The 2nd La Union Virtual Jobs Fair is a continuing employment facilitation strategy of the PGLU to connect job seekers and employment recruitment agencies in a virtual recruitment platform at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly in the part of applicants. This program of the PGLU is open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers seeking employment during this CoViD-19 crisis.

La Union Frontliners Nakatanggap ng Treats

Sa gitna ng mahirap na katungkulan ng ating mga frontliners sa kasalukuyang paglaban sa CoViD-19 pandemic, ipinarating natin ang suporta at pagmamahal sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng snack treats sa kanila noong Setyembre 26-27, 2021.

Community PanTree Goes to Central-Eastern

In support to the monthly Saluad La Union para Serbisyo Agri-turismo, Lako ken Oportunidad (SaLU-SALO) program, the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) in collaboration with the Municipalities of Central Eastern Circuit which includes Bauang, Naguilian, Burgos and Bagulin, La Union conducted a Community PanTree on September 25, 2021 distributing free seedlings.

The activity does not only hope to sustain environmental conservation and greenery within the province but also reduces impacts of climate change and address food security by planting more forest and fruit trees. Together with the above mentioned municipalities, the PG-ENRO distributed 130 assorted seedlings of forest and fruit-bearing trees per LGU such as 20 Avocado, 80 Tamarind, 80 Bittaog, 80 Narra, 80 Pakak, 40 Cacao, 40 Jackfruit, 20 sagat and 80 Firetree totaling 520 seedlings.

PG-ENRO led by the Officer-In-Charge Enp. Ayen Rosario Valdez dispersed in four LGUs and with the support of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers and Municipal Agriculturist of the concerned LGUs.
