To improve the effectiveness of the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) as a local policy-making body of La Union, a two-day seminar on Development Legislation and Legislative Agenda (LA) Formulation was conducted on October 24-25, 2022 at the SP Seaview, SP Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union where a total of 40 SP officials and legislative staff participated in.
To foster collaborative efforts in the preservation of the Iloko identity and language for the people of La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David formally sealed a partnership with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Establishment of ELYUKANO Center for Ilokano Studies on October 24, 2022, at the Office of the Provincial Governor, Provincial Capitol Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Building stronger ties and strengthening citizens engagement with its accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David, through the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC), convened the La Union Coalition of Civil Society Organization (LUCCSO) to celebrate its 2nd Founding Anniversary during the LUCCSO Week on October 17-21, 2022.
With the aim to improve the vocational capabilities of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and to help them reach their highest potential, the Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Rafy Ortega-David, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, in collaboration with the Pederasyon ng May Kapansanan ng La Union, Inc, (PMKLU), conducted the La Union Abilympics on October 20-21, 2022 at Sama Centennial Arc, Tubao, La Union.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Public Works and Utilities, chaired by SP Member Maria Annabelle De Guzman conducted an ocular inspection on the alleged illegal structures in Barangay Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union on October 19, 2022. The inspection, which was joint in by the SP Committee on Laws, Rules and Privileges, was done in response to the reported illegal constructions in the said area such as concrete pots erected at the creek bed; concrete slab on the top of the creek; and concrete stairway blocking the flow of water from the creek situated between Fat Wave Surf Resort and Turtle Beach Resort.
