In order to provide Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) officers and practitioners with necessary knowledge and skills in conducting immediate assessment on possible damages, losses and needs of the community in times of a disaster or eventualities, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) partnered with the Office of Civil Defense Region 1 as they conducted a four-day training on Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) for the Province of La Union on May 9-12, 2023 at the La Union Peace, Order and Safety-Emergency Operation Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.

In its continued efforts to strengthen Disaster and Emergency Management in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Health Office conducted the second leg of the Earthquake Preparedness and Landslide Search and Rescue Orientation Course (ELSAROC) for PGLU Safety Officers, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Training and Operations personnel and Philippine Air Force (PAF) officers on May 9-11, 2023 at the Home of Hope Building in Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

As the Provincial Government of La Union continues to pilot initiatives for a sustainable environment, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David led the conferment of the winners of the Search for the Cleanest, Safest and Greenest (CSG) Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Union for C.Y. 2021 on May 8, 2023 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Fifteen kaprobinsiaan beneficiaries from different municipalities of La Union were given an opportunity to provide additional income for their families and livelihood opportunities for their communities after the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), under the leadership of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, has provided them a total of 25,000 tilapia fingerlings to be used as a start-up for their agri-fishery livelihood, in time for the celebration of this year’s Bulan ti Mannalon ken Manngalap.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), has taken a bold step towards preserving nature by signing a Memorandum of Agreement with the La Union Province Parole and Probation Office (LUPPO) in fostering ecological integrity and a clean and healthy environment in line with the PGLU’s #KalikasanNaman Campaign.

Taking pride in the high-quality and wide variety of La Union products, the Provincial Government of La Union welcomed Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Director General Samuel Zacate; Cluster Director Mr. Gomel C. Gabuna; and representatives from FDA Central Office and FDA Region I at the La Union Agri-Tourism Center, Mabanag Hall, Barangay II, City of San Fernando, La Union on April 28, 2023.
