La Union records another first as the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) secures the first province in the entire country to pass a total of three ISO Standards implying competence in provision of public administration services following its passing of BS EN ISO 9001:2015 QMS Second Surveillance Audit on June 20, 2023 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Local Economic Enterprise & Investment Promotions Unit (LEEIPU), and the Department of Trade & Industry – La Union (DTI-La Union) recently convened the La Union Price Coordinating Council (LUPCC) for their First Semester Meeting on June 19, 2023. The meeting, held at the BAC Conference Room in the Provincial Capitol Building, aimed to address price concerns and coordinate efforts to ensure fair pricing in the province. The event brought together key stakeholders involved in price coordination including, including representatives from the provincial government, DTI-La Union, DOH-RO I, DA-RO I, DOJ-RPO I, LTO, PAFC-La Union and Assosasyon iti Manggalap ken Mannalon.
In order to attain a significant development towards prioritizing the safety and welfare of motorists and pedestrians, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David had a meeting with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 1 to discuss the plans on the installation of solar lights along Manila North Road across the province, on June 19, 2023, at her office in the Provincial Capitol.
The Province of La Union is making great strides towards progress by recognizing the importance of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) excellence. Aligned with the National ICT Month Celebration, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Office of the Provincial Governor – Information and Communications Technology Unit (OPG-ICTU), in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology Region 1 (DICT-RO1), conducted an ICT Proficiency – Diagnostic Examination on June 16, 2023, at the PDRRMO Building City of San Fernando, La Union.

Multi-awarded local artist and former President of Artists Guild of La Union (AGLaUn), Rodel G. Rillera bagged the Second Prize for the Sculpture Category of the 2023 Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) National Art Competition held on June 16, 2023 at GSIS Gymnasium, Pasay City.
To further strengthen its culture, arts and heritage conservation, promotion and development initiatives, the Provincial Government of La Union through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) – Culture and the Arts Unit (CAU) facilitated the Joint La Union Council for Culture, Arts and Language (LUCCAL) and La Union Museum Board (LUMB) 2nd Quarter Meeting held on June 15, 2023 at the PDRRMO Training Hall, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union with Honorable Board Member Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay, Committee Chairperson on Education, Culture, and the Arts, as the Acting Presiding Officer.
