In the bid to intensify its commitment in preserving biodiversity in the province through its #KalikasanNaman Campaign, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) strengthened its programs and initiatives on environmental advocacies through a one-day Community Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) activity in celebration of the International Day for Biodiversity Day (IDBD) held at Lon-oy, San Gabriel, La Union on June 25, 2023.

In a remarkable display of La Union PROBINSYAnihan and environmental commitment, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), Local Government of Luna, and the Philippines Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) joined forces to enrich mangrove areas in Pitpitac, Luna, La Union. This collaborative effort took place on June 24, 2023, as part of the PGLU’s Mangrove Development Program under the #KalikasanNaman Campaign.

In a joint effort to uphold tourism standards and provide the best possible experience for tourists, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through La Union Provincial Tourism Office collaborated with the Department of Tourism — Regional Office 1 (DOT – ROI) to organize a provincewide Mobile Accreditation Caravan. Held from June 19 to 23, 2023, the initiative aimed to ensure compliance with DOT standards among tourism stakeholders.

Bolstering effort on environmental preservation, 20 component Local Government Units (LGU) of La Union raced-off during an amazing environmental race dubbed as “ENVImazing Race” organized by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) on June 23, 2023 at the areas of Lower Amburayan River System, particularly, Bangar and Sudipen areas.

Representatives from the National Dairy Authority (NDA) and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian held a productive meeting with Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David on June 22, 2023, at the Provincial Capitol. The focus of the meeting was the implementation of the Dairy Cattle Program with discussions centering around the provision of 50 dairy cattle to the municipalities of Bangar and Aringay.

Garnering an impressive rating of 89.80 percent, Nursing graduate Sheena Rocacorba emerged as the top 9 in the 2023 Nurse Licensure Exam.

In pursuit of excellence, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), under the leadership of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, vies for this year’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the regional assessment was conducted last June 21, 2023 at the BAC Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

La Union records another first as the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) secures the first province in the entire country to pass a total of three ISO Standards implying competence in provision of public administration services following its passing of BS EN ISO 9001:2015 QMS Second Surveillance Audit on June 20, 2023 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
