As a celebration of the culinary heritage in the country, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office – Culture and the Arts Unit in partnership with the La Union Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association (LUHRRA) and La Union Farm Tourism Association (LUFTA) organized a three-day food festival dubbed as LUTO: La Union Tastes and Organics Food Fair with the theme, “Namaris a Padaya” on June 28 – 30, 2023 at the Mabanag Quadrangle, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through its information arm Provincial Information Office (PIO), met with counterparts from the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) to exchange best practices through a benchmarking activity held at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on June 30, 2023.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with the Trabaho Center of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) facilitated the conduct of Employability Enhancement Training which is a vital strategy to help a total of 515 youth to land a job. The activity was conducted on June 30, 2023 at the DMMMSU-MLUC Covered Court, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Hand in hand, volunteerism was evidently shown by residents as they safely took part in #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in helping the Bureau of Fire Protection; the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office; Local Government Unit of Bauang; and the Barangay in extinguishing a fire incident in Central West, Bauang, La Union in the afternoon of June 30, 2023.

Enhancing the effectiveness of Barangay Peacekeeping and Action Teams (BPAT), the distribution of High-Visibility-Vests (Hi-Vest) has been successfully completed across the 576 barangays in province of La Union equipping 4,608 Barangay Tanods with essential gear to ensure their safety and protection while maintaining peace and order in their respective communities.

𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗫 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗔 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡. The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) started awarding tokens of appreciation to the first 100 licensed professional taxpayers in the Province of La Union who paid their Professional Tax online.

Paving the way to adapt La Union coasts to climate change, the Provincial Government of La Union has intensified its commitment and efforts to restore coral reefs, regrow coastal infrastructure and foster marine life through the deployment and monitoring of artificial reefs.

The recent focus has been on aiding the municipalities of Balaoan and Sudipen in the formulation of their Annual Investment Programs (AIP).
