The La Union Surfing Break (LUSB) 2023 Technical Working Group convened on July 7, 2023 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union for the initial planning stage for the award-winning event’s 2023 execution. Participating local government units (LGU) were on boarded to prepare their activity line ups for the event as well as their safety and security plans. Also present in the meeting were partners from the Philippine National Police, Project Curma, and SIFCARE.

The significant step was marked by the passage of Provincial Ordinance No. 342-2023, titled “ENACTING THE SINGLE-USE PLASTICS (SUPs) AND OTHER REUSABLE AND DISPOSABLE MATERIALS CODE OF THE PROVINCE OF LA UNION,” during the 53rd Regular Session of the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union on July 4, 2023.
To improve the nutrition situation in La Union, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) – Region I reaffirmed their commitment to scale up the implementation of nutrition interventions in the province during the 53rd Regular Session on July 4, 2023.
