The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the leadership of Gov. Rafy Ortega–David, shines at the 36th Aliw Awards at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel, Manila on December 11, 2023. The PGLU received a distinction as Best in Festival Practices for Ayat Festival 2023: The 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary” and Best Festival Catalyst/Organizer for Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David. The Mutia ti La Union 2023 was also nominated for Best Events Production in the said award. The awards were conferred by the Aliw Awards Foundation Inc., to honor and distinguish achievements in the live entertainment industry in the Philippines. This testifies to PGLU’s commitment to providing quality events and activities to preserve cultural heritage and promote La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
After having been elected as the new President of the Provincial SK Federation in La Union, Hon. Harold Dave E. Sibuma of Aringay, La Union officially assumed office as Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan by taking the oath as administered by Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega during the 75th Regular Session of the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan on December 5, 2023.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – La Union conducted a One Town, One Product (OTOP) Cascading Workshop on December 4, 2023, at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union, the first activity of its kind on Republic Act No. 11960, otherwise known as the OTOP Philippines Act whose Implementing Rules and Regulations has been recently approved on December 3, 2023.

A total of 38,587 kaprobinsiaan and tourists visited the Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2023 Lighting Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Hill, City of San Fernando, La Union on December 1, 2023. This year’s Pasko sa Kapitolyo continued to use artificial snow to bring life to the event, 𝘃𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
