Following the fire incident in the City of San Fernando Auxiliary Market, today, January 11, 2024, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David has directed the offices of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to convene an emergency meeting for a comprehensive post-incident report on damages and to coordinate and formulate immediate plans and action for assistance to affected market vendors and stall owners. Among the initial immediate actions taken by the PGLU were the distribution of food and lunch packs to the victims and the provision of psychological and medical assistance.
With a reinvigorated sense of public service in the new year, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David led the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) in the conduct of the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on January 8, 2024 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union highlighting the new year’s opportunity to further upscale the service to the people.
KaPROBINSYAnihan Math wizard Julius Patrick Gorospe of Luna National High School proudly waved the banner of La Union and our country as he brought home a bronze medal from the World International Mathematical Olympiad (WIMO) Finals 2023 at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 6-7, 2024.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC) conducted the KaduaCon! Kadua Volunteerism Conference via Video Conferencing on January 5, 2024.
More than hundred members of Rural-based Organizations, and Farmers and Fisherfolk Associations from La Union gathered to participate in the Consultation Dialogue with Stakeholders cum Workshop which happened on January 4, 2024 at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center.
The Provincial Government of La Union through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) collaborated with the Department of Agriculture Philippine Center for Post-harvest Development and Mechanization-Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Program (DA Philmech-RCEF) to distribute agricultural machinery to La Union Farmer Cooperatives/Associations in support to their agricultural productivity.
Acknowledging the invaluable efforts of all volunteers across the nation, the annual celebration of National Volunteers’ Month in December recognizes volunteers and organizations who have rendered selfless service and exemplary acts to their communities.
