PGLU Conducts Mobile Accreditation Caravan, Assists 160 Establishments

In a concerted effort to enhance the capacity and compliance of tourism stakeholders to the Department of Tourism (DOT) standards, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office, successfully conducted a Mobile Accreditation Caravan across the province’s Agri-Tourism Circuits, which accredited a total of 160 tourism establishments from August 12 to 19, 2024.

PGLU Empowers Youth in AGRI-LA UNAY for eLyU Young Agripreneurs

As part of the 2024 Linggo ng Kabataan Celebration, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) launched the first Agri-La Unay for eLyU Young Agriprenuers on August 13 and 15, 2024, at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union. The event aimed to encourage youth sectors to actively engage in and support the agricultural and entrepreneurial fields, aligning with the PGLU’s Vision, “La Union, the Heart of Agritourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.”

RPMC-1 Lauds PGLU’s Balaoan District Hospital Isolation Facility as an Outstanding Project

The Regional Project Monitoring Committee 1 (RPMC-1) conducted a site visit to Balaoan District Hospital’s (BLDH) Isolation Facility on August 14, 2024, recognizing it as an outstanding project. Said visit is part of the RPMC’s 2024 Work Plan, focusing on field monitoring of projects that have demonstrated excellent physical and financial performance in previous years.

In a solemn ceremony, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) commemorated the 123rd anniversary of the appointment of Don Joaquin J. Ortega as the first Filipino Civil Governor of the province of La Union on August 15, 1901. The event took place in front of his statue at the Provincial Capitol Lobby, City of San Fernando, La Union, on August 15, 2024, where wreath-laying ceremonies commenced to honor Don Joaquin Ortega’s significant contributions to the development of La Union.
