La Union Opens Fish Hatchery, To Produce Up To 500K Fingerlings Annually

Strengthening the province’s aquaculture industry, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, inaugurated and blessed the Multi-Species Hatchery and Aquaculture Facility in Barangay Sta. Rita Central, Agoo, La Union on January 16, 2025. This modern facility aims to boost fish production, support local fisherfolk, and contribute to food security and economic growth in the province.

BCDH, Partners Conduct Mobile Blood Donation; Safeguard Blood Supply for Patients

Embodying La Union PROBINSYAnihan and value to life, the Bacnotan District Hospital (BCDH), in partnership with Bannuar Security Agency Inc. and the National Voluntary Blood Services Program – Ilocos Training Regional and Medical Center, held a mobile blood donation on January 18, 2025. This is to ensure a safe, adequate, and accessible blood supply for all patients needing blood and its components, particularly platelets for those admitted with dengue fever. A total of 19 units of blood were collected from the donors, among of which were BCDH personnel, led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Zenserly D. Pagaduan, and their relatives.

La Union Holds First Stakeholder’s Scientific Forum on Immunization

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) successfully conducted the first Stakeholder’s Scientific Forum on Immunization as part of the Department of Health’s Big Catch-Up Immunization Campaign at Dencio’s Bar and Grill, attended by Pediatricians from various hospitals and representatives from the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center.

PGLU, Canadian Embassy, Project CURMA, Boost Mangrove Conservation in La Union

As part of the broader effort to protect and conserve the province’s mangrove ecosystem, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, partnered with the Canadian Embassy and Project CURMA to plant 5,000 mangroves in key coastal areas across La Union.
