Provincial Engineer Ressie Estrella highlighted plans on putting up Car Park Buildings as he presented the status of projects of the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) in various locations in the province during the Cabinet’s Meeting on May 6, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
With the challenges on limited parking space in the City of San Fernando, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III instructed the PEO to design parking buildings near government offices to be constructed in three different locations in the city.
The first proposed parking building will be constructed at the ravine in between Guerrero Road and Aguila Road adjacent to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office - La Union (PSWDO-LU). The Boy Scout of the Philippines Building in Aguila Road will to be demolished to make way for the second parking building. Another parking space will be constructed at the Motorpool, Bypass Road near the Government Center in Brgy. Sevilla.
The three buildings were conceptualized by Arch. Edward A. Galvez and are expected to ease the problem in parking space and traffic around the city. If approved, above mentioned buildings will start their construction by 2020.
