Boosting Domestic Tourism with I’m IN Luv Travel Fair

The Provincial Government of La Union and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, in realization of their collaborative partnership on Tourism Marketing and Promotions, held the I’m IN LUv Travel Fair on October 8 to 10, 2021 at Robinson’s Place, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.
The three-day event aims to showcase the best of La Union and Ilocos Norte and promote domestic tourism. Discounted tour packages and local products were offered for grabs during the event.
Gov. Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc and Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos led the opening of the I'm IN LUv Travel Fair. In his speech, Gov. Manotoc said that the travel fair is the start of making the tourism industry get back on its feet and helping the affected enterprises recover.
Meanwhile, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III said in his recorded video message that the event is a reminder that tourism and economic development in general are not matters of competition but of collaboration. He said further that the partnership of La Union and Ilocos Norte should be an inspiration to all local government units in the country to foster healthy relationships among each other and embody the Filipino spirit of Bayanihan.
The opening ceremony was participated in by various local officials of Ilocos Norte, representatives from the Department of Tourism Region 1, La Union Provincial Tourism Office and members of the Ilocos Norte Travel Agencies Association.
The La Union leg of the I’m IN LUv Travel Fair is scheduled to coincide with the celebration of the La Union Surfing Break by the end of October. This strategic partnership between two premier destinations in the north is expected to give a big boost towards the revival of their local tourism industries.
