Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) personnel, headed by Dr. Zenserly D. Pagaduan, assisted in the conduct of physical fitness test of trainees in preparation for the start of the Philippine National Police Basic Internal Security Operations Course (PNP BISOC) held at 104th Company, Regional Mobile Force Company, San Roque Power Corporation, San Manuel, Pangasinan on June 9, 2018.
The training staff of BISOC under the supervision of the Training Manager and Course Director of Regional Special Training Unit (RSTU) I, PSupt. Orly Z. Pagaduan, conducted the first physical fitness test to the 240 students from RSTU based at Police Regional Office I, Camp BGen. Oscar M. Florendo, Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Prior to the start of the course, BDH medical personnel were invited to check the trainees to ensure their safety and good health through a medical examination.
BISOC is a 60-day specialized training course designed to develop a well-informed, very organized, disciplined and highly trained police officers. It is centered on enhancing the police capability to respond and successfully resolve any situation be it insurgency, criminal terrorist, and other related incidents. The course was conceived to prepare PNP personnel to fight the counter insurgency campaign as the Philippine Army starts to disengage and takes on a supporting role rather than being the main effort in chasing criminals.
Land navigation, immediate action drill, water search and rescue, were among the activities and other modules needed to enhance their skills and knowledge in conducting security operations in all areas of counter-terrorism, anti-criminality, special operations, anti-insurgency and anti-extremist operation were usually done. The course was designed to equip the new cops to make them more capable when assigned to public safety forces.
