BCDH BAGGED 3-STAR AWARD, BEST PRACTICE AWARD FOR GREEN AND SAFE FACILITY

Bacnotan District Hospital (BCDH) has been honored with dual recognition from the Department of Health Center for Health Development 1 during the Health Promotion Awards for Healthy Health Facilities, held on November 26, 2024, at the Plaza del Norte Hotel and Convention Center, Laoag City.
BCDH was conferred with a prestigious 3-Star Award at both the regional and national levels under the Department of Health’s Green and Safe Health Facility Program. This recognition, assessed through the Green Viability Assessment System, marks BCDH as the first district hospital in La Union to achieve such distinction under the DOH’s Green Hospital initiative.
In addition to the 3-Star Award, BCDH was also recognized with the Best Practice Award for its exemplary implementation of a Health Care Waste Management Plan, including an innovative approach of utilizing treated wastewater for flushing toilets.
Dr. Zenserly D. Pagaduan, BCDH Chief of Hospital, together with medical staff Dr. Jeffrey Julian, Dr. Jennifer C. Gamiao, and Ms. Venus F. Avecilla, proudly accepted the awards during the event.
Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David commended BCDH for their outstanding achievements that highlights Provincial Government of La Union’s commitment to sustainable and quality healthcare.
BCDH’s recognition highlights their part in La Union PROBINSYAnihan in promoting green health facility practices, contributing to the province’s vision of maintaining high standards in healthcare services.
