As a step in the faster attainment of herd immunity in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union, through the directive of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III, has increased the number of inoculated Senior Citizens (SCs) with 314 SC receiving their first dose during the exclusive vaccination for the said priority group at the Saint Louis College Gym, City of San Fernando, La Union on August 7, 2021.

By allocating Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines for the SCs from all over the province, it increased their confidence in getting the jab. The La Union Medical Society and the Philippine National Police have also rendered their full assistance in the said activity.

Shout out to army personnel who assisted us form the the gate going inside to the gym and to James Apillanes of 911 who wheeled Mima to the different stations. A big thanks too for the NAPANAM ID card provided for all who registered online. Meanwhile, lola Esperanza Rillera from the City of San Fernando, one of the three oldest CoViD-19 survivor at the age of 94, was also present in the vaccination site to get her first dose.

This activity is the first senior citizen-exclusive vaccination in the province where 218 who pre-registered were vaccinated ang 96 walk-in SCs were accommodated.

With the conducted activity, a total of 40,139 or 39.33% of SCs are already vaccinated as of August 7, 2021. Unvaccinated kaprobinsiaan belonging to priority groups A1 to A4 are still encouraged to register at www.vaccines.launion.gov.ph to get their schedule of vaccination.
