PGLU Hosts Labor Education, Career Guidance Webinar for First Time Jobseekers

Representatives from the different government agencies discuss during the Labor Education and Career Guidance Webinar for First Time Jobseekers on May 28, 2021 at 5/F LUPAC Bldg., City of San Fernando, La Union. 134 college graduating students from the different campuses of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) participated in the webinar while 2,100 viewers streamed the program from the Facebook Page of DMMMSU-MLUC.

PGLU Reps Capacitated on Greenhouse Gas Inventory

The Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP)-Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Province attended an Online training-workshop on Entity Level Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory and Community Level Greenhouse Gas Inventory led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ€“ Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office No. I through video conferencing on May 27-28, 2021.

The two-day webinar focused on the Overview of Climate Change Act; Policies and National Programs; Introduction of Entity GHG Inventory; and Community Level GHG Inventory.

The online training-workshop aimed to improve the participantsโ€™ capacity, knowledge, and understanding of the basic concepts of climate change and accounting entity and community level GHG emissions from different sources that would be useful as a planning tool in developing mitigating actions within their jurisdiction and for the updating of the Provincial LCCAP.

The LCCAP-TWG is composed of the Office of Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator; Office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Office of the Provincial Agriculturist; Office of the Provincial Health Officer; Office of the Provincial Engineer; Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office; Provincial Budget Office; Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office; OPG-Office for Provincial Strategy; and Office of Provincial General Services.

To continue the harmonious working relationships of the Provincial Government of La Union and the component local government units (LGUs), Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III visits the local government of Sudipen, La Union headed by Mayor Wendy D. Buquing on May 27, 2021 as the start of the Stronger Ties with LGUs Program.

Equipped with his mission to bring transformative governance, Gov. Pacoy aims to personally reach out to the component LGUs to know further their concerns and to find out where the PGLU can provide assistance and programs.

Banking on the provinceโ€™s unity and cooperation, visits and coffee table discussions are also scheduled with the rest of the LGUs in the coming weeks. We are strong but together, we are stronger.
