With the aim to further improve the detection of CoViD-19 cases in the province and increase the collection of specimens, a Training and Actual Demo on Proper Specimen Collection, Packaging and Storage on the procedure in handling and dealing with CoViD-19 was spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) at the Home of Hope Provincial Isolation Facility, Acao, Bauang, La Union.

Following the damage left by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm #MaringPH, La Union is now declared under State of Calamity by virtue of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 1413-2021 (bit.ly/LU-Res1413-2021), “Declaring a State of Calamity in the Province of La Union due to Destruction and Loss of Livestocks, Agricultural Products and Infrastructures Brought About by Severe Tropical Storm ‘Maring’ and for other purposes.”

Ngayong nakalabas na sa Philippine Area of Responsibility ang Severe Tropical Storm #MaringPH, clearing and relief operations naman ang pinagtuunan ng pansin ng Provincial Government of La Union alinsunod sa direktiba ni Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III.
Taos-puso ang pasasalamat sa ating rescue, patrol and relief teams na walang humpay ang sakripisyo at pagtutulungan sa gitna ng pananalasa ng Severe Tropical Storm #MaringPH.
Nakikipagtulungan ang Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) sa iba’t-ibang ahensya mula sa Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coastguard at 1st La Union Mobile Force Company upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng bawat Kaprobinsiaan sa gitna ng banta ng Severe Tropical Storm #MaringPH.
In response to the invitation of the 22nd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union, representatives from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) attended the Committee Hearing of the SP Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Management and Relief Services chaired by Hon. Gary Pinzon on October 25, 2021, via online video conferencing. The said committee hearing was conducted to enlighten the SP on the basis, guidelines, and proper procedures in giving forecasts and warning before and during the onslaught of typhoon “Maring,” which traversed Northern Luzon on October 11-12, 2021.
Sa utos ni Gov Pacoy Ortega, agad na nagpaabot ang Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) ng tulong na sa mga bayan na nagdeklara ng granular lockdown dahil sa pagtaas ng kaso ng CoViD-19 sa pamamagitan ng pamamahagi ng food packs para sa mga pamilyang apektado.
