ALULEDIPO Holds First Association Meeting, Commits to Strengthen Ties with PGLU

The Association of La Union Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officers (ALULEDIPO) pledged their full support to the Provincial Government of La Union's ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering innovation. This was the highlight of the first association meeting of ALULEDIPO, initiated by the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotion Office (LEEIPO) on May 22, 2024, at the BAC Conference Room in the Provincial Capitol Building in the City of San Fernando.
Presided over by Ms. Rizalyn D. Medrano, Local Economic and Business Development Officer of the City of San Fernando, and Ms. Angela Grace C. Peralta, Head of PGLU-LEEIPO, the assembly tackled critical topics relevant to the roles of Investment Promotion Officers and Business Permits and Licensing Officers. Discussions focused on Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Registration, updates to the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI), and revisions to the Local Investment and Incentives Code.
The association also finalized and adopted their constitution and by-laws as ALULEDIPO members and officers. During the meeting, Engr. Halen P. Gamisera shared insights on IPO Registration. Engr. Gamisera highlighted the importance of protecting a business brand’s identity and its impact on the innovation pillar criteria of CMCI.
Ms. Victoria A. Ordoño, Chief Trade-Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry-La Union, graced the event and expressed her optimism about the association's future contributions to economic development in the province.
With ALULEDIPO members reaffirming their commitment to active collaboration and continuous learning to enhance their effectiveness as local economic development officers, they emphasized the importance of La Union PROBINSYAnihan in driving sustainable economic growth and making La Union a prime destination for investment.
