After World Surf League LU Win, Esquivel Dominates Once More in WSL Baler

La Union Pride and KaPROBINSYAnihan surfer Rogelio "Jay-R" Esquivel continues to make waves in the global surfing arena as he once again dominated the finals of the Men's Longboard competition in the World Surf League Baler International Pro 2024 in Sabang Beach-Baler, Aurora on February 6, 2024, clinching an impressive back-to-back championship title within the year after winning the WSL La Union International Pro 2024 last January.
Esquivel secured a 17.40 points over his Japanese opponent Kai Hamase, who only scored 15.65 points in the finals. The La Union native is the 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 to win the said competition. Last year, Esquivel became the first Filipino to qualify for the World Longboard Tour.
His victory comes right weeks after his win at the World Surf League La Union International Pro, where he won in the same category.
The Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David congratulates Esquivel for another victory and pride that he brought to the country and province.
