The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) formed its All Hazard Incident Management Team (AHIMT), the first province in Region 1, following the completion of 37 participants of the Incident Command System (ICS) Level IV held on April 29 to May 3, 2024, at the Villa Silvina Hotel and Restaurant, Baguio City.
The training aimed to capacitate the participants who will form the La Union AHIMT that will manage complex incidents, bringing together expertise from various agencies and organizations to ensure a coordinated and effective response. It was participated in by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council members including the Department of the Interior and Local Government; Bureau of Fire Protection; and PGLU Offices and Hospitals.
The ICS provides a standardized organizational structure for managing incidents of all sizes and types. This structure ensures clear lines of authority, accountability, and communication, which are crucial during emergencies when quick and coordinated action is necessary.
With the formation of the La Union AHIMT, the interoperability of the Emergency Operations Center among government agencies in La Union during disaster response is expected to be strengthened in alignment with #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan.
