LU Strengthens Army Reserve Force; Provincial Administrator Pacoy Ortega New RRIBn Battalion Acting Commander

“This is a very historic event. This is the first time for me to see so many General Officers during a Change of Command Ceremony of a Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion,” says Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff GEN ROMEO S BRAWNER JR PA.
The 103rd (LUN) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) held their Change of Command as Provincial Government of La Union Provincial Administrator LTC FRANCISCO EMMANUEL R ORTEGA III PA (RES) accepted the Command Order from immediate past Acting Battalion Commander COL RAMON LAUDENCIA on April 27, 2024 at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega (La Union) Convention Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Commander MGEN ROMULO A MANUEL JR PA of the Reserve Command presided the Ceremony as he also presented the accomplishments of the 103rd RRIBn and assured LTC Ortega of their support, “Be assured that all senior officers will consistently stand by your side, ready to offer assistance and guidance as you lead your unit. We believe in your capacity and we are looking forward to seeing the 103rd RRIBn to be the model unit that all RRIBn will follow.”
In his remarks, New Acting Battalion Commander LTC ORTEGA expressed his gratitude and commitment, “As the Battalion Commander, I am fully committed to working closely with local authorities and community leaders to strengthen our partnerships, and enhance our ability to respond to any threat that may arise, more so at present when there is a great deal of uncertainty.”
He also mentioned his experience as the immediate past Governor of the Province of La Union and as the former Chairperson of the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board, First Scout Ranger Regiment which will help in further solidifying the Army Transformation Roadmap.

The Change of Command of the 103rd RRIBn stands as a testament of the PGLU’s continuous commitment under the leadership of Gov. Rafy to partnerships that will further strengthen peace, order, and security in the Province.
