LU undergoes Nat'l Nutrition Survey; PGLU, DOST-FNRI Collaborate for Healthier Province

To discuss the recently concluded 10th National Nutrition Survey in the province, the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) paid a courtesy call with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on April 4, 2024 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando City, La Union.

Representatives from DOST-FNRI were welcomed by Provincial Administrator Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, representing Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David. The dialogue between the parties focused on the importance of the said survey, which aims to measure the nutritional status in La Union and the entire nation.

La Union, one of the randomly selected provinces nationwide, will play a crucial role in the survey, covering 11 municipalities and 24 barangays. This coverage underscores the commitment of both the national and local governments in addressing health issues and fostering evidence-based policymaking.

Resonating the province’s call for La Union PROBINSYAnihan, the collaboration between PGLU and DOST-FNRI aims to gather vital information for better health programs dedicated to making kaPROBINSYAnihan at all Filipino healthier.

As the 10th National Nutrition Survey wraps up in La Union, the PGLU remains steadfast in its commitment to promote the health and well-being of every KaPROBINSYAnihan, driving the province towards a healthier future.
