Ayat Thrill Fest Wows Locals, Tourists; Served as Avenue for GIDA KaPROBINSYAnihan to Take Part in LUFA

Adrenaline was high and all senses activated as the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David staged the Ayat Thrill Fest 2024 at the Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando, La Union on March 2-3, 2024 featuring Hot Air Balloon, Drift Show, Car and Moto Fest, Static Display, Sky Diving Exhibition, Free Paintball, and Wall Climbing.

The event highlight was the invitation of children and their parents from Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas of Santol, San Gabriel, Bagulin, and Caba to experience the different thrilling activities.

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David acknowledged her husband and Executive Assistant IV Kevin C. David who led the organizing of the different Ayat Thrill Fest activities, and emphasized that the enjoyment of the LUFA activities should be experienced not only by those from the City of San Fernando but those from areas far from the city.

KaPROBINSYAnihan and tourist spectators of the La Union Founding Anniversary enjoyed the thrilling activities that added excitement to visitors. A total of three giant balloons and four mini-balloons added colors to the sky as the Hot Air Balloon Show also gave the public a chance to fly. The Drift Show brought heart-pounding experiences to KaPROBINSYAnihan who rode the drift cars in a shotgun ride as audiences enjoyed the thrill of drifting, skid marks, and tire smoke. The Car and Moto Fest also brought amusement to enthusiasts featuring 21 national and local car and motorcycle displays with 84 locals taking part to win awards in the different categories. Free wall climbing and paintball games were also available to solo and group visitors of the fest.

As part of the Static Display of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Special Weapons And Tactics Team, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine Air Force. The PCG-Aircraft showcased a Water Rescue Simulation Exercise that ended with a Bougainvillea Air Shower highlighting the provincial flower of La Union on the first day. The second day featured a Sky Diving Exhibition that left audiences in awe.

The Ayat Thrill Fest serves as an anticipated event of the La Union Founding Anniversary playing a crucial role in La Union’s journey to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025 drawing more tourists and locals in promoting the province.
