PGLU Honors 23 Outstanding KaPROBINSYAnihan in Pammadayaw 2024

In celebration of the development and growth of KaPROBINSYAnihan, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) conducted the Pammadayaw Awards 2024 at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, Brgy. Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union on March 1, 2024.

The program annually recognizes KaPROBINSYAnihan who showed excellence in various fields, including governance, community service, and overseas work. Awards such as the Balitok A Medalia Ti La Union, Diego Silang Award, and others are given to honor those who have positively impacted the community and raised its competitive profile.

The event awarded 23 distinguished KaPROBINSYAnihan who have rendered commendable contributions to province.

Private Sector Representative of the Regional Development Council (RDC) Region Mary Jane C. Ortega was awarded with the prestigious Balitok a Medalia ti La Union. Provincial Director of the La Union Provincial Police Office PCOL Lambert A. Suerte was also recognized as he was given the Diego Silang Award for his utmost dedication and effort in contributing to a safe and secured La Union. AB Michel V. Bacabac, Arlyn B. Bambico, Jessie M. Cabagbag, Nila O. Camiguing, Edgardo P. Cosares, Hon. Francisco Angelito L. Fontanilla, Judge Placido O. Garcia III, Zenaida Concepcion-Gogno, Aurora R. Laroya, Victoria N. Malaya, Hon. Joy Pinzon-Merin, Mark Francis E. Munar, Emilia V. Vizcarra, and Erma R. Yapit were honored with the La Union Service Award (LUSA); Carlos Bhima L. Tamayo received the Sadiri Award; Michale C. Eugenio and Rustom S. Luna were recognized for the Outstanding Overseas Contract Worker (OCW) Award; Virgilio Cortez and Holcim Philippines, Inc. were commended with the Outstanding Taxpayer Award for Individual and Corporate Category; Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. was esteemed with the Abel Award; and the Tagudtud Youth Organization was given the Basi Award.

“This shines a spotlight on your excellence… and mirrors the result of our battle cry – our La Union PROBINSYAnihan,” Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David delivers as she expresses her gratitude to the honorees for their contribution. “Ang mga achievements po ninyo ay achievements din ng buong probinsya kung kaya’t kasama po kayo sa tinatamasa nating progreso ngayon… I am proud of all of you!” she added.

Pammadayaw 2024 is an integral part of the 174th La Union Founding Anniversary celebration as this fosters a culture of greatness, inspires others to strive for similar notable achievements, and promotes a sense of pride and unity as La Union strives for the collective vision of being the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
