La Union Communicators Unite in COMMunity2023, Serve as Springboard in Creating La Union COMMunity Press Corps

With the ultimate goal of uniting individuals committed to bringing informed kaprobinsiaan and decision-makers, around 400 participants joined the largest gathering of communication practitioners and students in the province entitled COMMunity: PROBINSYAnihan in La Union through Communication organized by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) under the leadership of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David on November 13, 2023 at the Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center (La Union Convention Center), Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Practical topics in applying communication were discussed including Communicating Your Passion by Licensed Health Physician and Online Content Creator, Dr. Kilimanguru; Story Telling through Visual Arts by Model and Designer Selina Woo Bhang; and Entertainment in the Modern Estate: Tiktok, Streaming, and Reels by Coach Abby, Mary Clarence Reyes, and Hans Galendez of Tier One Entertainment; and Innovating the Reel: The Modern Content Creator by Ramon Bautista.
In her message, Gov. Rafy emphasized each individual’s role in disseminating right and verified information and said, “Iba iba man ang ating mga ginagawa ngunit lahat tayo ay contributors sa pagdisseminate ng right information sa ating mga kaprobinsiaan; lahat tayo ay sama samang lumalaban sa fake news at disinformation…we also want to empower you as communication agents, kasama po kayo sa La Union PROBINSYAnihan.”
Among the attendees were La Union Information Officers from the different Local Government Units, Government Agencies, and PGLU Offices, Librarians, Media and Influencers, Senior High School Students and Teachers, and La Union residents. First District Board Member Chary Nisce was also present during the event.

Kudos to all of those people behind this event especially to the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Rafy Ortega-David!" expressed Ayla Fae Boadilla Medriano, one of the participants of COMMunity2023.
The activity was organized with the Provincial Information Office’s alignment to the strategic roadmap to strengthen citizen engagement and feedback. It also serves as a springboard for organizing the province-wide La Union COMMunity Press Corps by encouraging kaprobinsiaan to register at bit.ly/LUCOMMunity2023 to take part in La Union PROBINSYAnihan in building an active and engaged citizenry.
