PGLU Bags Back-to-back Awards for Tourism Excellence, Showmanship

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the leadership of Gov. Rafy Ortega–David, shines at the 36th Aliw Awards at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel, Manila on December 11, 2023. The PGLU received a distinction as Best in Festival Practices for Ayat Festival 2023: The 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary" and Best Festival Catalyst/Organizer for Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David. The Mutia ti La Union 2023 was also nominated for Best Events Production in the said award. The awards were conferred by the Aliw Awards Foundation Inc., to honor and distinguish achievements in the live entertainment industry in the Philippines. This testifies to PGLU’s commitment to providing quality events and activities to preserve cultural heritage and promote La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
Following this, the PGLU was also commended by the Department of Tourism at the Mabuhay at Salamat Po! Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Celebration of Love gathering at Makati Diamond Hotel, Makati City on December 12, 2023. PGLU was one of the recipients of the prestigious award in the country in dedication and sustenance to training 100,000 tourism workers and professionals for an authentic and quality service rooted in Filipino values. The recognition was handed over by DOT Sec. Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia-Frasco. The award recognizes the significant contributions of tourism institutions, partners, and local government units in advocating the FBSE, a flagship program of the DOT geared towards promulgating Filipino hospitality excellence, and is projected to boost and enrich the quality of tourism services in the country.
