LU Takes Pride in TatakLUkal Products Staged in Manila Fame 2023; Sold Almost 1Million on Opening Day

A total of 10 local Business Establishments showcased their #TatakLUkal products in the Artisans Village La Union during the Manila Fame 2023 that opened on October 19, 2023 at World Trade Center, Pasay City earning a total of Php982,169.00 sales on the opening day where the Provincial Government of La Union provided support by sponsoring an amount of Php800,000.00 for the product development assistance and marketing package for one year and participation fee, of the 10 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and exhibitors from La Union.

Among the participating La Union Artisans are Kultur Siak Enterprise of Bacnotan; Northway Arts and Crafts of San Juan; RP Lucina Weaving of Bangar; EDC Paper Haus of Bauang; Bauang Crochet Asociation; ARCS Antiques and Woodcrafts of Pugo; Fe’s Handicrafts of Balaoan; Bancagan Bamboo Handicrafts of Naguilian; HCR Handicrafts of Aringay; and Heisabelle Wood Works of Sudipen.

La Union artisans are enjoined by the provinces of Antique and the regions of Northern Mindanao for the Artisan Village.

First Lady Liza A. Marcos, Center for International Trade for Expositions and Missions Executive Director Dr. Edward Feirera; Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary Carol P. Sanchez, government officials and other prestigious guests graced the La Union Pavilion.

In a meeting prior to the departure of the participants to the fair, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David expressed how she takes pride in local talents and skills in crafting the different products. She also encouraged them to continue to join such opportunities to further promote not only their own products but La Union as a whole which contributes to the attaining of the vision to position La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. Gov. Rafy also committed to provide continuous assistance through the Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit.

The Artisans Village Program is a holistic initiative dedicated to strengthen the country’s handicraft sector. Among other participants in the Manila Fame 2023 are from Antique and Northern Mindanao. The fair is open for all shoppers until October 21, 2023.
