La Union PROBINSYAnihan for Public Safety; PGLU Closely Works with DPWH for Road Restoration

The good weather today, September 7, 2023, permitted the start of the Department of Public Works and Highways' (DPWH's) road patching of potholes along the National Highway of La Union caused by strong rains in the past days. Upon the directive of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David, Provincial Engineer Ressie A. Estrella had a dialogue with DPWH La Union 2nd District Engineering Office District Engineer Gil Lorenzo to provide possible augmentations and fastrack the patching.

DPWH La Union 2nd District committed to completing the patching of the roads within the week to preserve the safety of kaprobinsiaan and motorists on La Union highways.

While national roads are not part of the jurisdiction of the Provincial Government, the Provincial Engineering Office directly addressed potholes in different areas in La Union just recently. The office will ensure constant coordination with the DPWH for long-term solutions to this matter.
