Driven by the act of volunteerism, the staff from the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) together with Philippine Coast Guard San Juan, LGU Bacnotan and Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Councils took part in securing a globster found in the seawater of Brgy. Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union.
On July 30, 2023, a sighting of a globster was reported to the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO). Upon inspection, it was observed that the organic matter is declared dead for almost a week based on its decomposing state.
This voluntary act is aligned to PGLU’s commitment in preserving biodiversity in the province through its #KalikasanNaman Campaign and strengthening the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in the province.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David encouraged our kaprobinsiaan to take part in raising awareness on biodiversity by protecting and conserving the wildlife species as we step closer to the attainment of our vision for La Union to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
