In a resounding display of La Union PROBINSYAnihan and the unwavering commitment to education and youth development, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Rafy Ortega-David turned over a total amount of Php 6,795,000 to the Department of Education La Union Schools Division (LUSDO) and City Schools Division Office (CSDO) for the Brigada Eskwela projects and activities of all 453 Public Schools and Integrated Schools in the province.

The turning over of the said financial assistance commenced during the kick-off ceremony of Brigada Eskwela 2023 on August 14, at DepEd LUSDO Conference Center. With the said amount funded under the Special Education Fund of the Provincial School Board, all public schools and integrated schools in the province and city will be receiving Php 15,000 each.

"I would like to thank the support of our Legislative Partner Board Member Cynthia Bacurnay, our support from our Provincial School Board, sa ating Provincial Planning and Development Office, at sa lahat ng Stakeholders natin for making this posible. And we want to continue this every year para maramdaman din po nila (schools) ang support ng PGLU," expressed Gov. Rafy thanking people and organizations behind the approval of the brigada eskwela financial assistance.

Gov. Rafy, who is a known advocate of youth development and education, emphasized that such initiative does not only aid schools and teachers in their preparation for the opening of the upcoming school year, more importantly, it is a manifestation of the Provincial Government's commitment to empower the youth through investing in their education by providing them proper resources including conducive learning environment.

"In La Union, we have been investing in our education and this time, we will be more aggressive because everyone deserves quality education here in our province," the Governor said.

La Union Schools Division Superintendent Jorge M. Reinante, in his acceptance speech, expressed his gratitude to Gov. Rafy and the whole Provincial Government for the full support they have been receiving.

"Nais po naming ipabatid ang aming pasasalamat sa ating Provincial Government na pinapamunuan ng ating Gobernadora Rafy Ortega-David dahil kasama po ang 13 schools sa City Division of San Fernando na nabigyan ng financial assistance sa ating Brigada Eskwela 2023. We will see to it that we will pay back by teaching our learners become productive citizens of our province," Superintendent Ubaldo cited.

Last year, Gov. Rafy awarded the same financial assistance to 447 public schools in support to the implementation of full face-to-face classes of students, through a video presentation, DepEd LUSDO showed the school projects successfully established with the said assistance.

With the Brigada Eskwela 2023 Kick-off and turning over of financial assistance, it was evident that Gov. Rafy and the Provincial Government's contribution to the province's education sector is more than a financial aid, it is a resounding affirmation of their commitment to fostering a brighter future for the youth and the province through education, volunteerism and La Union PROBINSYAnihan.
