PGLU, LGU Luna, and PSME Collaborate to Enrich Mangrove Areas in Province

In a remarkable display of La Union PROBINSYAnihan and environmental commitment, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), Local Government of Luna, and the Philippines Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) joined forces to enrich mangrove areas in Pitpitac, Luna, La Union. This collaborative effort took place on June 24, 2023, as part of the PGLU's Mangrove Development Program under the #KalikasanNaman Campaign.

With the active participation of 60 kaprobinsiaan-volunteers from the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office, Philippines Society of Mechanical Engineers La Union Chapter, Mechanical Engineering students from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University- Mid La Union Campus, and the Municipal and Barangay Local Government of Luna, 1,000 mangroves were planted to rehabilitate Pitpitac Mangrove Area.

The PSME also signified their support La Union PROBINSYAnihan for environmental protection through their Green Project. Engr. Willy Bermudez, Vice President of the PSME, stated that their group would help in raising awareness among future engineers about the environment and that it is upright to take responsibility and partake in the programs and activities that are geared towards environmental protection.

The PGLU, through the PG-ENRO, continues to advocate for the La Union PROBINSYAnihan initiatives, welcoming stakeholders who are willing to contribute and support the #KalikasanNaman Campaign of the province for a more sustainable and resilient future of La Union.
