The Provincial Government of La Union together with the members of the La Union Public Transport Route Plan (LuPTRP) team chaired by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David has once again convened for the review of the LuPTRP plan in the province on April 24, 2023 at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Attended by representatives of PGLU, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, various government line agencies and transportation groups, the meeting focused on the development of the LuPTRP Plan, presentation of the future plans and addressing the different concerns and issues. Among the concerns addressed were the consolidation of franchise of the operators which is extended until December 31, 2023 and the timelines of the approval of the LuPTRP.

A transport summit is set to kick-off on the 2nd semester of the year that will invite all drivers, operators and transport groups in the province to give them an opportunity to air their concerns and get educated about the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

In a message delivered by Gov. Rafy, she emphasized the importance of public transportation and the route plan towards achieving province's development.

In the spirit of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan, Gov. Rafy then vowed to forge ties with the team and expressed her full support to the plan to ensure an orderly and systematic operation of the Public Utility Vehicles in the province which is one of the key components in positioning La Union to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
