La Union, Bataan Strengthened Ties Through MOA Sisterhood Signing; PGLU Shared Best Practices to PGB

Solidifying partnership for mutual developments, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega-David and the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) led by Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III embarked on another milestone as they formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement on Sisterhood on March 10, 2023 held at the Thunderbird Resort, Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Dubbed as LUB U or the La Union-Bataan Union, the MOA signing seeks to formalize the partnership of the two provinces to further advance its tourism and trade linkages that will foster sustainable development, pursuant to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 1345-2022.
Serving as witnesses were La Union Vice Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega, Bataan Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, La Union Provincial Tourism Officer Arthur Cortez Jr., Bataan Provincial Tourism Alicia Pizarro and OPG-LEEIPU Assistant Department Head Angela Grace Peralta. Board Members of the Province of La Union and Bataan alongside with the Department Heads of PGLU and PGB also graced the momentous event.
In a message delivered by Gov. Rafy, she expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the PGB for forging partnership with PGLU.
โThis is just the beginning of our beautiful and harmonious relationship with one another, thank you everyone and may this inspire more LGUs, more government units to do the same because itโs in working together that we really can do very much for one anotherโ Gov. Rafy emphasized.
As part of their benchmarking activity, the delegations from the Provincial Government of Bataan, composed of the department heads and personnel, were given the opportunity to visit the top tourist destinations of the province including the Provincial Capitol and learned from La Unionโs best practices on Tourism and Ecozone. La Union Tourism Officer Cortez Jr. imparted his insightful presentation on the Tourism initiatives of the province while Vice President for Airport Management, Josefa Catherine Bada of the Poro Point Management Corporation focused on the discussion of the Ecozone development.
The two-day activity provided the delegates with valuable take-aways and committed to adapt the initiatives in their province.
Gearing towards transformative governance, the PGLU remains committed to build a strong collaboration with other Provincial Government to uphold the delivery of efficient and excellent service to every Kaprobinsiaan that will spur mutual progress and development which is vital towards the realization of La Unionโs vision to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
