After years of hiatus due to the CoViD-19 pandemic, Filipinos definitely are excited to travel and crave for diverse adventures. This was very evident last September 30 - October 2, 2022, at Halls 1 - 4, SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, where the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Region 1 (DOT-R1), along with Local Government Units, Tourism Stakeholders and Operators, once again showcased the beauty of the Philippines in the longest running travel and trade exhibition in the country, the Philippine Travel Mart (PTM).
The event gathered more than 200 Local Government Units and Tourism Stakeholders, offering up to 70% off on travel packages, accommodations, and airfare including brand-new destinations. The surfing capital of the North, La Union, was well-represented through the collaborative efforts of PGLU, LUPTO, DOT-R1 and in partnership with La Union Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association (LUHRRA) and La Union Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies (LUATTA). La Union tour packages and local products were showcased in the 3-day event and La Union team was able to generate a total of Php 233,690 from onsite bookings with potential sales of Php 8,599,500.
Through the years the Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) is very much committed in organizing promotional activities for the development of domestic and inbound tourism showcasing tourist attractions and the latest tourism offerings in the Philippines. This yearโs travel and trade exhibition rekindled old partnerships and forged new ones within the tourism domain.
The Provincial Government of La Union leverages the time being and explores all possible ways to develop innovative strategies in promoting noteworthy destinations to visit in La Union. Giving ample support to Farm Tourism, Nature Tourism and Gastronomy among others, La Union is on the works to acquire our Vision to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon in 2025.
