PGLU pushes for a Strong Partnership for Goals in the Executive-Legislative Agenda

In line with the vision of the Province to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) kick started the formulation of the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) for CY 2023-2025 through the conduct of the Part 1 of the ELA Process, which is the Kick-off cum Partnership for Goals on September 01, 2022 via zoom. The activity was actively participated by the elected provincial officials, PGLU department heads, representatives from the National Government Agencies as well as sectoral leaders and representatives of Civil Society Organizations to ensure that optimal plans are developed and implemented for the improvement of the quality of life of our kaprobinsiaans.
During the said activity, distinguished speakers were invited by the PGLU to shed light on the importance of the ELA and the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and civic participation in the attainment of the Provincial Goal by 2025. Ms. Nicolette May O. Amon, Local Government Operations Officer VI of the Department of the Interior and Local Government - La Union Provincial Office discussed the processes on how to develop a good ELA while Mr. Agape Sem B. Comendador, Officer-In-Charge of the Capacity Building Division of the PPP Center of the Philippines presented the key steps on how to Achieve Long-Term Goals through PPP. Lastly, Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe, of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency presented the Role of Civic Participation and Volunteerism in Socioeconomic Development and shared some best practices in the Local Government Units (LGUs).
With this, we can achieve a People-centered and driven governance, Universal access to basic needs, Sustainable and progressive economy and Orderly, sustainable, and resilient component LGU’s and barangays in the Province while working in synergy in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in. The ELA serves as a unifying document that presents the mutual agreement of the executive and legislative departments in collaboration with provincial stakeholders. This term's ELA theme is "Pagkakaisa para sa P.U.S.O" which highlights unity among the executive and legislative department and the vital stakeholders of the Province in the attainment of the Province's long-term Vision and the new administration's P.U.S.O. Agenda.
