The 71st Infantry Kaibigan Battalion, headed by LTC Michael Bautista, reported the Province of La Union as "insurgency free" during a courtesy visit to Governor Rafy Ortega-David on September 9, 2022, at the Office of the Governor, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Gov. Rafy Ortega-David lauded the soldiers for maintaining peace and order. In addition, she vows to continue supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police to quell terrorism and communist insurgency threats in the country.
The recent development report will spur profound progress and improve Kaprobinsiaan's living conditions. Moreover, businesses will continue to flourish, and prosperity shall become a way of life in every corner of our beloved Province of La Union.
The concerted effort of the different stakeholders and continuous cooperation of the local government units and law enforcement agencies is a clear manifestation of #LaUnionPROBINSYANihan. Indeed, PGLU is one with AFP in protecting the best interest of the Kaprobinsiaan.
